Yew Jia-Lin
 
 Yew Jia-Lin started piano lessons at the age of five and began public performances at the age of eight. Her studies with Chua Kah Pin, Yap Boen Pin and Martina Maixnerova, led to LTCL, FTCL, and LRSM diplomas in performing. Jia-Lin was offered an Associated Board Scholarship to study with Ruth Hart and Rex Stevens at the Royal Academy of Music in 1983. In 1986, Jia-Lin obtained the LRAM and was awarded a year's scholarship extension at the Royal Academy to pursue the Advanced Performance Course. Jia-Lin was also a recipient of the 'Harold Samuel' and 'Tinedenik Wertlake' prizes among other accolades, which include recitals in Belgium, Spain and


  

 
  
 
  
  
  
 

England. In 1995, Jia-Lin moved back to Singapore with her family and is currently active as a musician and accompanist. She was selected to be the Singapore based mentor for CT ABRSM 1998-2001. She is currently a lecturer at Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. She has accompanied singers, cellists, violinists, percussionists, as well as performers of other instruments such as tuba, oboe, flute, for concerts. She also gave several 2-piano concerts.
